George Bowie

George Bowie (born 1968 in Greenock, Scotland) is a Scottish radio personality and club DJ. He currently presents the breakfast show on Glasgow radio station Clyde 1.[1]

Career

Bowie joined Clyde 1 as a producer aged 20, before moving into presenting following a change in ownership.[2] He moved to new station Beat 106 in November 1999, but left after two months having lost around £6,000 earnings in eight weeks.[3]

Bowie won a Bronze Award at the 2008 Sony Radio Academy Awards in the Breakfast Show category.[2]

Bowie competed in STV's World Celebrity Boxing event in 2009, but lost to politician Tommy Sheridan on a points decision.[4]
